HOW TO DO A PERSONAL END OF THE YEAR REVIEW
IS THE YEAR REALLY ALMOST OVER?
The year is gradually coming to an end with only a few weeks to the countdown to the new year. As we wrap up the year, everywhere you turn there is either a person listing their achievements on social media during the year or another person who already knows how next year will pan out on all fronts. This can be overwhelming because you feel you have not achieved your goals this year. Here are ways you can reflect on how your year went and also do a personal end-of-the-year review.
In this article, I will be exploring ways you can do a personal end-of-the-year review which will help you measure your growth and also plan for the upcoming year.
1. Take A Look At the Vision Board You Wrote This Year
It might sound cliche but most people write a vision board at the beginning of the year. This consists of the things you hope to achieve spanning from finances to relationships amongst others. So take a trip down memory lane and check the things you have been able to achieve on your vision board; this will help you measure your growth in the year.
2. Tick the Ones You Achieved
After taking a trip down memory lane and checking those goals you set at the beginning, remember also to see if you have achieved a number of these goals. After achieving them, what impact did they have on your overall lifestyle? Did you hit a significant milestone career-wise, financially or did you work to improve your personality? Ensure that you tick them and give yourself a huge thumbs up for achieving them.
3. Check the Ones You Were Unable To Achieve
Despite achieving so much and ticking off that list, you might still have pending ones you were unable to achieve due to varying factors and this might have made you feel guilty. Instead of beating yourself up and blaming yourself for being unable to achieve these goals, why not take a step back and strategize on ways you can implement these goals in the coming year?
4. Make a Detailed Action Plan For Next Year
Do you still want to wait till 2024 to start writing the goals you have for the year? That would be shooting yourself in the leg because the best time to plan for next year is now. Get a journal, do a vision board, and divide your action plans into various sections spanning career goals, lifestyle goals, financial goals, and any other goal that resonates with your overall identity. Ensure you write the plans you have for each section and the realistic ways you aim to achieve it. For example, if you are looking to read 30 books in the year, spare 30 to 60 minutes daily to read insightful books and at the end of the year, you will be amazed at how far you have read.
5. Practice Gratitude
The essence of gratitude can be sometimes overlooked, it is however imperative that you practice gratitude because it helps you reflect on how far you have come as an individual in all areas of your life.
